Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 16, 2026

Specsmith is a tool for building and running cocktail programs: recipe specs, prep recipes, batching and menus. This policy covers both the Specsmith website and the Specsmith app for iOS. We collect what the product needs to work, and nothing to sell.

What we collect

Your email address and name. Given when you create an account with an email and password, or passed to us by Apple or Google when you sign in with them. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we receive Apple's private relay address and never see your real one. Apple sends your name on the first authorization only, so that your account has something to be called.

Photos you take or choose. The iOS app can attach a photo of a drink to a recipe, taken with the camera or picked from your library. The app asks before the camera opens, and only the photos you attach are uploaded. We do not read your photo library otherwise.

The content you create. Recipes, specs, prep recipes, menus, workspace names, and anything else you type into Specsmith. This is the substance of the product rather than a by-product of it.

Basic operational records. Server logs, which include IP address and request timing, kept so we can find faults and detect abuse.

What we do not do

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell or rent personal information. The iOS app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, and makes no third-party network calls — the only host it talks to is Specsmith's own.

Why we collect it

To create and run your account, keep you signed in, show your workspace the recipes and menus that belong to it, save your edits, and reply when you contact support. We use it to operate and improve the product, and for no separate purpose beyond that.

Who else sees it

People in a workspace you belong to can see that workspace's recipes, menus and prep, and the name and email of its other members. That is the point of a shared workspace — what you write in one is visible to the rest of it.

Beyond that, we use a small number of service providers who process data only to provide the service to us: cloud hosting and database storage, file storage for uploaded photos, an email delivery provider for account mail such as verification and password resets, and a payment processor for paid plans purchased on the website. We never receive or store full card numbers. We otherwise share personal information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect Specsmith or its users from abuse.

Information received from Google APIs is used and transferred in line with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your account

In the iOS app, open Account and choose Delete account. On the website, the same control is in your account settings. Deleting is permanent: your account, your personal workspace and the recipes in it are removed, and if you signed in with Apple, that grant is revoked with Apple so the connection does not outlive the account.

If you own a shared workspace you will be asked to transfer or delete it first, since a workspace cannot be left without an owner. The app names the workspaces standing in the way rather than just refusing.

Recipes you created inside a shared workspace stay with that workspace after you leave, because they belong to the team rather than to you personally. Backups and server logs age out on their own schedule and are not retained indefinitely.

Children

Specsmith is a professional tool for people working in bars and restaurants. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and, where the change matters to you, say so in the product. Questions, requests for a copy of your data, or anything else: support@getspecsmith.com. You can also reach us through our support page.
